Jeffery Tillery - [email protected]

Jeff is a senior in FWCB with an emphasis in wildlife. He has worked in Utah, Minnesota, and Idaho with goshawks, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, moose, and grizzly bears. His primary interest lies in the spatial ecology of large carnivores.  He is excited to keep growing the FWCB Club this year and help other undergraduates grow as professionals.

Vice President of Wildlife

Logan Neu - [email protected]

Logan is a sophomore in FWCB specializing in wildlife biology. He is primarily interested in large game cervid species like moose, elk and deer. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, beekeeping, hunting, fishing and backpacking. Logan is looking forward to planning new events and helping the club develop working relationships with professional organizations over the next year. He is also excited to help other students develop relevant field skills.

Vice President of Fisheries

Ashley Anderson - [email protected]

Ashley is a senior in FWCB with an emphasis in wildlife. She is minoring in Marine Biology, Wildlife Care and Handling, and ESPM. She spent the summer at Carp Solutions as a field technician removing invasive Common Carp from metro lakes to help improve water quality. (It was awesome!) In the future, she plans on continuing through school to receive her PhD in Wildlife Management. Her goal is to continue a career working with animals; so far, she has worked on over 50 different species. In her free time, she enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, and playing softball and volleyball.

Secretary

Dieter Yung - [email protected]

Dieter is a senior in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology. This past spring, he was an intern at the Minnesota Zoo in the behavioral husbandry department and attended Marine Corps Officer Candidates School in the summer. Dieter is especially interested in carnivorous species, which was only enhanced after working with leopards, bears, dholes, and wolverines at the zoo. In addition to leading marines, Dieter hopes to become a wildlife biologist in the future.

Treasurer

Samir Ferdowsi - [email protected]

Samir is a senior majoring in professional journalism. He spent his summer in Japan taking courses in Tokyo, exploring the countryside and researching salmon populations and the effects of farming on the species on the island of Hokkaido. With his eyes set on a career in adventure and conservation journalism, Samir looks forward to bringing a different perspective to FWCB and hopes to develop the club and our impact on the environment in every positive direction possible this year, with the help of all its members.

The past two years, she has worked for Native Bee Lab at the UMN Bee Research Facility doing field work in the summer months and lab work during the school year. In her free time, she enjoys biking around Minneapolis, playing ultimate frisbee, and baking. She wants to expose fellow students to the glory of bugs.
